My Family

Happy Easter! He is Risen!

If you have never been to the tulip fields near Woodburn, it is definitely worth the trip. The flowers are amazing! Every Easter they host a sunrise service which I went to for the first time today. Afterward we snapped a few shots of the gorgeous flowers. Hope you all had a great Easter!

"Gifts that God Gives!"

You may not understand the significance of these pictures but it truly was a joyous occasion. Perhaps I should start at the beginning by saying that we (my roommate and I) have been out of toilet paper for several days. Being the frugal college students that we are, we refused to go to the store to buy more, because a generous supply of TP is included in our room and board. So you can imagine the excitement we had upon coming home to find an entire box of TP sitting in our living room (apparently the TP fairies have the key to our apartment). We were over joyed and at the moment feel like we will never ever run out of TP again. In fact we have so much that we are giving our friends each their own roll (see picture of Katie below). We are feeling very relieved that the TP famine is over.

Getting away from the Bubble!

It was a truly gorgeous day in the Pacific Northwest! Blue sky and warm temps (for January anyway)! It almost felt like spring! This my friend Carmen and I.

The Class of 2009!

Here we are at Bald Peak Park watching the sunset! On the left is my roomie Alyssa and on the right is my new friend Nikki. We are all nursing students and have had a blast getting to know each other. So, I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you all some highlights of being a nursing student: Having a class at 6:30AM, wearing uniforms, having stylish white shoes, getting to play around with stethoscopes, and having a guaranteed job after graduating from college!

Sunset of the Week

So it was Friday and we (Alyssa, Carmen, Nikki, Rachel and I) took off from campus to watch the sunset from the "hill." Actually, it was a state park that overlooks the valley. It was so beautiful up there! We got some great pics and had a amazing time admiring the beauty of God's creation. Just what we all needed after a long week of classes.

Queen of the Wild Frontier

Well, I am still in Molalla, but not for long. I am leaving next Sunday for the land of Newberg, where the people actually have all their teeth. It will take some getting used to, but I am up for the challenge.
I have been accepted to George Fox University's Nursing Program! I will start classes on Monday and clinicals in February...so watch out everyone! I am super excited, especially because my good friend Alyssa was also accepted into the program! We will graduate in 2009 as bona fide nurses. Posted by Picasa

My Beloved Monster and Me

My family can always tell when I am chatting with this girl...I suppose it is because our laughter is constantly reaching new decibels. My mom refers to it as the "Maggie Chuckle". I am really going to miss my constant companion when I go off to college. Late night coffee breaks, speaking spanish (residue from our internships in the Dominican Republic), making silly videos as if we were obsessed with ourselves, or rolling on the floor of whoever's house we happen to be gracing with our laughter at the moment....
Although most of our adventures have originated in the DR, Molalla, Hubbard, or Costco, neither of us have any doubt about fun to be had in Newberg.

Ahh...Summer is here!

Hey everybody!
Well I am back again! I have been meaning to update this blog for so long, but, yeah...
Anyway, life is good. I survived 3 terms of Anatomy and Physiology! It was a long year but I actually had a blast and made some really good friends. I am kinda sad it is over because it was a huge part of my life. I basically lived and breathed A&P for 9 months!

Now I am just taking one class this summer. It is the dreaded Speech 111 class. I have put it off for 2 yrs and if I had the opportunity I would put it off for another 2 yrs. It is probably not as bad as I am making it out to be but nonetheless I pretty much hate it. :) I do seem to be able to find entertainment in the class. The first day a guy brought the teacher a red juicy apple and set it on her desk. I am not sure who was more amused, me or the teacher! Really who does that?

I would like to share with you all that I am now a true Molallaian. I went to the Buckeroo this 4th of July! Seriously, I have lived in the Molalla area for 12 years and I have never been to the rodeo. Actually I don't remember ever going to a rodeo. Anyway, I actually really liked it. Which is funny because I have made fun of it for so long that I thought I would find it all silly. But the truth is I thought it was cool. I was pretty excited when I saw a cowboy actually stay on the bull for the full 8 seconds. Apparently it is way harder than it looks because only 5 out of 100 guys were able to make the 8 second mark. Is that normal cause it seems really low to me. One thing I didn't think was super fascinating was when two guys on horses raced a calf. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention and that wasn't what they were doing, cause that seemed a little ridiculous. The calf almost always won too. So, I never thought I would say this but all in all my first rodeo experience was indeed a thrill.
Well I need to go and work on a speech. But in case you ever need to know this Wilsonville Rd. does not go to Woodburn. It goes straight to Newberg. Yeah I learned that one the hard way. Byes!

Las Primas!

Hi Everyone! Well I suppose it is time for another post! My life once again is all about school. I am taking way to many credits so I can get my transfer degree by the end of summer term.

So you are probably wondering what it up with this ridiculously cool photo I have posted here, huh? Well, I do try to find time to do fun stuff like going to the beach with my cousin Haley, which is where this pic was taken. I look like I am going to eat the camera! lol I also recently went ice-skating with my darling girls from youth group, which was a blast. Nobody broke any bones so that was a plus. Alright, I must go and force myself to study tonight! Lots o' midterms have I!
